UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, OCT. 15: ALL BOXES HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED.
Are you or anyone you know struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table? We have at least a short-term solution. On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Feed Fannin is scheduled to receive 600 boxes of food for families in need through the U.S. government’s CARES Act. We will be distributing the boxes, which each contain 30-40 lbs. of fresh produce, dairy and meat, to anyone who stops by the Fannin County Family Connection Food Pantry from noon to 3 p.m. that afternoon and again from 10-3 on Thursday (Oct. 15) or until all 600 boxes have been given out. On Thursday (Oct. 15), you can also pick up CARES food boxes at the new Blue Ridge Campus of the University of North Georgia from 3-5 p.m. There are no restrictions on who may receive the food. Anyone who shows up can take home a box. Please tell anyone you know who could benefit from this giveaway, as all food must be distributed by Friday afternoon.
